Holmqvist & Partners Law Firm AB (“the Law Firm”) is the data controller for the personal data we receive in connection with assignments or otherwise processed when we prepare or administer the case. We may also supplement personal data by obtaining information from private and public registers.
You are not obliged to provide any personal data to us, but if we do not receive necessary personal data, we cannot accept an assignment because we cannot carry out necessary conflict of interest checks and anti-money laundering checks.
We process the data to
The data is processed based on the processing being necessary to fulfill an agreement with you, that the processing is permissible after a balancing of interests (e.g., when you are a representative or contact person for a legal entity that is a client of ours), that the processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation (e.g., accounting obligation), or that the processing is necessary to fulfill a task of public interest (e.g., in public assignments), or the processing is carried out as part of authority exercise.
If none of these grounds apply, processing may occur if consent has been given. The data may also be used for business and method development, market analysis, statistics, and risk management. Data processed for this purpose is based on our legitimate interest in developing the business and communicating with our contacts.

The data may be disclosed to courts, authorities, counterparties, and counterparties’ representatives if necessary to safeguard your rights.
Personal data is stored, in accordance with the obligation incumbent on the Law Firm under the Swedish Bar Association’s Guidelines on Good Legal Practice, for a period of ten years from the completion of the case, or for the longer period required by the nature of the case. Data processed for the purpose of developing, analyzing, and marketing the Law Firm’s business is stored for a period of two years after the last contact. If you unsubscribe from newsletters or similar, the data in that regard will be immediately deleted.
You have the right to request information free of charge from the Law Firm about the use of the personal data concerning you. Upon your request or on our own initiative, we will correct or delete incorrect data or restrict the processing of such data. You also have the right to request that your data not be processed for direct marketing purposes. You also have, in some cases, the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format or, in some cases, to have the data transferred to a third party that you designate. If you are dissatisfied with our processing, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, which in Sweden is the Swedish Data Protection Authority (www.imy.se).
